Dr. Richard Balderston, Chief of Spine Surgery
at Pennsylvania Hospital, is a leader in Disc Replacement Surgery, using ProDisc® Total Disc Replacement Surgery to revolutionize the practice of spine surgery. He has dedicated his professional life to improve the lives of his patients, and to seek new treatments for all patients inflicted with Degenerative Disc Disease. After graduating with a B.A. from Yale University, where he was a Yale National Scholar, Dr Balderston went on to attain his M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. In addition to his position at Pennsylvania Hospital, Dr Balderston is a Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Attending Staff at Graduate, Bryn Mawr, Virtua West Jersey Health System and Lankenau Hospitals.
Dr Balderston is also a member of many professional organizations, including the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the International Society for Study of the Lumbar Spine, and the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society.
